Savasha Butler, M.S., LPCA

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate in South Carolina. I believe therapy should be a space where you feel supported, understood, and able to show up as yourself. My approach is warm, collaborative, and person-centered, with an emphasis on helping clients better understand their experiences, recognize patterns that may be keeping them stuck, and build practical tools that support meaningful change.

I work with teens, young adults, adults, couples, parents, and caregivers across a range of concerns and life stages. My areas of focus include anxiety, OCD, ADHD, and executive functioning challenges, stress and burnout, relationships, emotional regulation, self-esteem, grief, family challenges, and major life transitions. I also enjoy supporting parents and caregivers as they work to understand better and respond to a child or teen’s needs while managing their own stress.

Currently accepting new clients for in-person and telehealth.

My approach to therapy is warm, collaborative, and person-centered. I believe therapy should be responsive to who you are, what you are experiencing, and what feels useful to you.

I draw from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), strengths-based strategies, and other evidence-informed approaches to help clients better understand patterns, build practical coping tools, strengthen communication and boundaries, and create changes that feel realistic and meaningful in everyday life.

For clients experiencing OCD and related anxiety concerns, I also incorporate Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) as appropriate while continuing to receive specialized training and clinical supervision in OCD treatment.

Therapy does not require having everything figured out before you walk through the door. We can start with where you are and work together from there.

My Approach

Sometimes life just starts to feel like too much. You may be juggling responsibilities, relationships, work, family, and everyone else’s needs while trying to keep yourself from feeling completely overwhelmed.

Therapy can offer space to slow things down, make sense of what is happening, and work through concerns such as:

Support For Real Life

ADHD and Executive Functioning

Support for overwhelm, organization, follow-through, emotional regulation, competing demands, and the self-criticism that can come with feeling like you “should” be managing better.

Relationships & Couples

Support for communication, recurring conflict, disconnection, boundaries, and understanding relationship patterns that may be keeping you stuck.

Parent & Caregiver Support

A space for parents and caregivers navigating a child or teen’s anxiety, ADHD, emotional regulation, behavior, family stress, or treatment needs while also trying to manage their own stress.

I also work with clients navigating anxiety, OCD, stress and burnout, grief, self-esteem, emotional regulation, and major life transitions.

Before becoming a counselor, I served in the United States Navy as a Corpsman, where I had the opportunity to work with people from many different backgrounds and communities. Those experiences helped shape my interest in how people cope, connect, and make sense of difficult seasons in their lives.

I am also a Charleston native, wife, and mother, and I understand that life does not happen neatly outside of the therapy room. Relationships, responsibilities, family, work, and the expectations we place on ourselves all influence how we experience the world.

That perspective continues to shape the kind of therapist I want to be: grounded, curious, collaborative, and genuinely interested in the person sitting across from me.

Where Experience Meets Connection

I earned my M.S. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Capella University and my B.S. in Applied Behavior Analysis from Purdue Global University.

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate in South Carolina and practice under the clinical supervision of Madison Lowe Askins, LPC, LPCS Candidate.

I believe strong clinical training matters, but so does the relationship you have with your therapist. My hope is that therapy feels like a place where you can be honest, feel understood, try something different, and have space that is genuinely yours.
